Getting Your Business Off The Ground

When I started my photography business, I didn't have the best equipment. I had enough to get by and I was always hoping that I had enough battery life in my external flash. I thank God for my early clients who gave me a chance and used my services. I’m very grateful for the experience and feedback. Was I  a little nervous asking people for money to take pictures, yes, however, I had to start. The hardest step for anyone to make in any new endeavor is the first step and it is necessary to just get your business off the ground. I encourage people who want to start shooting to learn the craft because there’s so much out there to learn. I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t know everything there is to know, but I’m always searching. A few of my homies are photographers and I’m always running things by them and asking questions. It’s always good to get feedback from a colleague in the field because they can see what most people who are not part of the field will see. They understand the details that can make your photos go from good-to-great. If you haven’t done so already, start shooting and getting gigs so you can get your reps up.

Peace,

Jay
